Do you know who murdered Damion Morton? In the spring of 2017, a burst of gunfire on a Louisville street cut short the life of 38-year-old Damion Morton. On the night of April 8th, at roughly 10:20 p.m., Morton was driving in the 1300 block of Cypress Street in the Parkland neighborhood when he was struck by a bullet. First responders found him inside his vehicle and rushed him to University Hospital.
For three days, Morton clung to life, but his injuries proved too severe. He succumbed to the gunshot wound on April 11, 2017.
Known affectionately to his family and friends as 'Snoop,' his death left a profound void in the lives of his loved ones, who remembered him as a calm and observant man. He was a son, brother, uncle, and father.
The Louisville Metro Police Homicide Unit took charge of the investigation into Morton's killing. However, the case grew cold over time. Despite the efforts of law enforcement, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. The lack of resolution has left his family grappling with unanswered questions and a longing for justice that remains unfulfilled years after his tragic and unsolved murder.
