In the quiet community of North Charleston, South Carolina, the life of Al-Jaami Asa Sweet, a 40-year-old Black/African American male, was tragically cut short. On the first day of October in 2017, Sweet was discovered in the driveway of a residence on Hunters Ridge Lane, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.
