In the early morning hours of November 27, 2017, the community of Great Falls, South Carolina, was shaken by a fatal shooting that claimed the life of 28-year-old Lamario Lightner. The male victim was discovered inside a residence on Circle Drive, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. The Chester County Coroner's Office officially identified Lightner as the deceased.
The Chester County Sheriff's Office immediately launched a homicide investigation into Lightner's death.
Deputies cordoned off the area around the Circle Drive home to gather evidence and speak with potential witnesses. At the time, law enforcement officials did not release any information regarding a possible suspect or suspects in the shooting.
As the investigation progressed, the Chester County Sheriff's Office sought assistance from the public in identifying a person of interest. In December 2017, they released a composite sketch of an individual they believed might have information pertinent to the case. However, despite this effort, there have been no public announcements regarding any arrests made in connection with the murder of Lamario Lightner. The case remains an open and unsolved homicide.
