In the late afternoon sun of June 26, 2018, in Reevesville, South Carolina, 42-year-old Darren Elmore was riding his lawnmower in his backyard, a routine task on a summer day that would tragically be his last. A verbal altercation with his ex-wife, 29-year-old Ella LaQuarles Harrison-Elmore, escalated to a fatal conclusion. Armed with a shotgun, Harrison-Elmore shot her former husband, ending his life.
