In a tragic turn of events on a Tuesday evening in Greer, South Carolina, the lives of two young people were cut short in a violent encounter that ended with the death of the primary suspect. Seventeen-year-old Princess Icess Fuller and her boyfriend, 20-year-old Marquez Nash, were found deceased inside a residence at the Poplar Place Apartments on September 18, 2018.
Firefighters, initially responding to a report of a fire, made the grim discovery of the two victims.
Subsequent investigation by the Greenville County Coroner's Office revealed that Fuller had died from a gunshot wound to the head, while Nash had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The apartment where they were found was the scene of an intentionally set fire, adding another layer of tragedy to the incident. Fuller was a student at Batesburg-Leesville High School and was remembered as a kind and nice young lady who was active in her church, the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
The investigation quickly led authorities to a suspect, 25-year-old Tevin Miller. A few hours after the bodies of Fuller and Nash were discovered, Miller was found deceased in a car in the nearby town of Wellford. The Spartanburg County Coroner's Office determined that Miller had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Greer Police named Miller as the suspect in the double homicide, though a motive for the killings has not been released. While police believe Miller to be responsible, some questions reportedly remain for those who knew him, as the case is still considered unsolved by some members of the public.
