Vernita Danielle “Nita” White, a 19-year-old woman from Florence, South Carolina, was killed on October 27, 2018, after gunfire erupted at a home on Middleton Avenue in the Woodmont subdivision. Police responded to the call and found she had been shot inside the residence where officers said she lived, and the case was treated as a homicide as the Florence County Coroner’s Office moved to have an autopsy performed in Charleston at the Medical University of South Carolina.
