On December 13, 2017, police were dispatched to the 9900 block of Shirewick Way in the Valley Station neighborhood following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival at 11:23 p.m., officers discovered a grim scene with three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
Among the victims was 21-year-old Omar Alejandro Rebozo-Hibirma, a Hispanic male.
He, along with 27-year-old Carlos Turrelles Arias and a third unnamed individual, were rushed to University Hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, both Rebozo-Hibirma and Arias succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead in the early morning of December 14. The third victim of the shooting survived and was reported to be in stable condition.
In the aftermath of the triple shooting, the Louisville Metro Police Department launched a homicide investigation. However, the case has remained unsolved, with no suspects publicly identified or arrested in connection with the deaths of the two men. The home where the shooting occurred was a rental property, with new tenants having moved in just a couple of months prior to the incident, according to neighbors.
