In the summer of 2019, the community of Holly Hill, South Carolina, was shaken by the death of Robert Haskell McWaters, a 46-year-old man known for his humor and spirited character. McWaters, born on October 7, 1972, in Orangeburg, was a lifelong resident of Holly Hill, where he was a local business owner, operating the town's pawn shop for many years.
