On a chilly Monday afternoon in Louisville, Kentucky, on December 3, 2018, 31-year-old Gary Demond Cole Jr. made a visit to a friend's house on Grand Avenue to have his car looked at. Tragically, this errand placed him in the path of unexpected and fatal violence. As he was getting out of his vehicle, shots were fired from several houses down the street. An innocent bystander, Cole was struck by a stray bullet. Despite his injuries, he tried to make his way to safety, collapsing on the sidewalk.
