Gary Cole Jr., 31, was fatally shot on December 3, 2018, in Louisville, Kentucky, while visiting a friend in the Chickasaw neighborhood. As he stepped out of his car, a stray bullet from a nearby altercation struck him. Cole, who was not the intended target, managed to walk a short distance before collapsing.
