In the quiet community of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, the life of 32-year-old Juan L. 'LB' Booker was tragically cut short on January 10, 2020. A Black male, he was found suffering from a gunshot wound in a stairwell at the Promenade Apartments on Dornoch Drive. Despite being rushed to Spartanburg Medical Center, he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into his death led law enforcement to Troy Dashaun Braxton.
Braxton was apprehended on January 21, 2020, following a police pursuit that was initiated when he failed to stop for a deputy. Evidence discovered in Braxton's vehicle, along with subsequent interviews, connected him not only to the death of Juan Booker but also to an armed robbery that had occurred on January 1, 2020.
As a result of the investigation, Braxton faced a series of serious charges, including murder, four counts of armed robbery, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. At the time of his arrest, Braxton was also on probation in Union County and faced additional charges for violating his probation. He was subsequently held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
