On a Sunday morning in March 2020, the body of 17-year-old Logan Allen Stacks was discovered on the side of a gravel road in Lancaster County, South Carolina. The young man had been fatally shot. Not long after the discovery of his body, a car belonging to Stacks' father was found in a ditch miles away. The investigation into the death of the Fort Lawn male quickly moved forward, leading authorities to two other young men who were with him during his final hours.
Investigators determined
that Logan had been with 19-year-old Arthur Jeremiah Fisher III and 18-year-old Akime Lee Truesdale on the night before his death. The three were traveling in the 2001 Saturn owned by Logan's father. At some point, Fisher, who was driving, stopped the car on Kirk Air Base Road. It was there that he shot and killed Logan, leaving his body by the roadside. Fisher then drove off in the Saturn, eventually abandoning it in a ditch after it experienced mechanical problems.
Authorities located and arrested Arthur Jeremiah Fisher III at his home the same day Logan's body was found. He was subsequently charged with murder and grand larceny. A second suspect, Akime Lee Truesdale, was arrested a few days later and charged with accessory after the fact of a felony of murder. In July 2021, Arthur Jeremiah Fisher III pleaded guilty to the murder of Logan Allen Stacks. He was sentenced to 38 years in prison for the crime.
