In the spring of 2020, the life of 24-year-old Kodie Patrick was tragically cut short in what authorities would later describe as a murder-suicide. On April 8th, law enforcement officials were called to a motel in Hartsville, South Carolina, where they discovered a grim scene. Inside one of the rooms, Kodie and a male individual were found deceased.
The investigation into the double fatality quickly focused on the theory that the two had died as a result of a violent altercation that
ended in their deaths. The Darlington County Coroner's Office identified the second individual as 22-year-old Isaiah Gedeon. Both Kodie and Isaiah were formerly residents of Ashland, Kentucky.
Further investigation by the authorities concluded that Gedeon was responsible for Kodie's death before taking his own life. As the perpetrator in the murder-suicide was also deceased, the investigation did not lead to any arrests or criminal proceedings. The case was closed following the coroner's determination, leaving friends and family to mourn the loss of the young woman.
