On the evening of July 12, 2020, Chad Nicholas Westbury, a 39-year-old White male from Johns Island, South Carolina, was fatally shot. The incident occurred at approximately 9 p.m. following an altercation outside a Walgreens on Savannah Highway. Westbury was discovered unresponsive on the ground about half a mile from the scene of the shooting and was pronounced dead there. He was a father of three boys and worked in construction as a craftsman and mechanic.
