On a Saturday evening in September of 2020, the life of 31-year-old Keith Lamar Watkins Jr. was tragically cut short in a public park in Piedmont, South Carolina. Watkins, a Black male, was found with a fatal gunshot wound following an altercation. The Greenville County Coroner's Office later confirmed his identity and the cause of his death, ruling it a homicide.
