In early March of 2021, the life of 42-year-old Richi Hussein Millner, a male resident of Fountain Inn, South Carolina, came to a tragic and violent end. The events unfolded at a WoodSpring Suites motel located in the neighboring Spartanburg County, where Millner had gone to confront his ex-girlfriend. According to reports from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office, Millner forcibly gained entry into the motel room where his former partner was staying with another man.
Once inside, an
altercation began, during which Millner allegedly started to assault the other male individual. The situation escalated dramatically, leading to Millner being shot multiple times. The coroner's report would later confirm that he succumbed to gunshot wounds to his head, neck, and torso. The individuals in the motel room, his ex-girlfriend and the man she was with, were both armed and contended that they had acted in self-defense. The ex-girlfriend also provided information to investigators that Millner had been stalking her.
Following an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting, the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office determined that no probable cause existed to file any charges against the two individuals in the motel room. The death of Richi Millner was officially ruled as a justifiable homicide. Consequently, no arrests were made in the case. Millner, a father of three daughters, was remembered by his family as a devoted parent whose greatest accomplishment was being a father.
