In the autumn of 2021, the life of 22-year-old Travis Terrell Green Jr., a male resident of Charleston, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. On the evening of October 30th, he was discovered in the driver's seat of his vehicle at the Pinecrest Greene apartments in the West Ashley area, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency services rushed him to the Medical University of South Carolina hospital, but his injuries proved fatal.
The investigation into his death would soon unravel a story of betrayal, greed, and violence, orchestrated by individuals known to him, including his own cousin.
Investigators quickly identified three suspects in the shooting: Antonio Jerome Green Jr., who was Travis's first cousin, Brian Randell Sease, and Derrick Samuel Stewart Jr. The motive behind the deadly encounter was determined to be a planned armed robbery. The trio had arranged to purchase marijuana from Travis, luring him to the apartment complex under this pretense. However, their actual intention was to rob him. The situation escalated when a dispute arose over the price of the drugs, leading to the fatal shooting. Evidence presented later in court revealed that two different firearms were used in the commission of the crime.
The ensuing legal proceedings brought the details of the plot to light. During Antonio Green Jr.'s trial, his co-defendant, Derrick Stewart, took the stand and testified about the events of that night. He recounted how the disagreement over money led to Brian Sease and Antonio Green Jr. brandishing their weapons. Stewart admitted to his role in the events and eventually pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter, for which he received a deferred sentence.
In August 2025, a Charleston County jury found Antonio Green Jr. guilty of the murder and armed robbery of his cousin. He was subsequently sentenced to 33 years in prison. The following month, Brian Sease was also brought to justice. He was convicted of voluntary manslaughter, armed robbery, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. A judge sentenced him to 30 years of incarceration for his role in the senseless death of Travis Terrell Green Jr.
