In the early morning hours of Saturday, January 29, 2022, a dispute that began inside a Williston, South Carolina nightclub tragically ended with the death of 30-year-old Uniqua LaDorothy Odom. The altercation, which started inside the Lucky Spot on Kelly Street, spilled out into the street, escalating to a fatal shooting.
Responding officers found Odom lying in the middle of Chavis Street, approximately 40 yards from the club.
The investigation into her death quickly identified a suspect.
Williston Police identified Latrisha Renee Lawrence as the individual responsible for the shooting death of Odom. A warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of murder. The investigation revealed that the shooting was the culmination of a fight between the two women that had started inside the nightclub.
Following the incident, Lawrence fled the area. She was later apprehended in Concord, North Carolina. After her arrest, authorities began the process of extraditing her back to South Carolina to face the murder charge.
