In the summer of 2022, the life of 17-year-old Gavin Timothy Guffey of Rock Hill, South Carolina, came to a tragic end. On July 27, 2022, the recent Rock Hill High School graduate died by suicide at his home after falling victim to an online sextortion scheme. Gavin, who was known for his love of art, music, and skateboarding, was preparing to attend college with the dream of becoming an art teacher.
