Bishardd Gray, a 49-year-old Black male, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022, following a shooting incident in Easley, South Carolina. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 23, 1973, he was a resident of the Easley area at the time of his death.
On that Saturday afternoon, shortly before 5:00 pm, the Pickens County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call about a man who had sustained a gunshot wound to the torso on Green Meadow Lane.
Upon their arrival, deputies discovered Gray lying in the middle of the road. He was transported to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the shooting led detectives to identify and locate numerous witnesses who were present during the incident. An adult male who was at the scene was initially detained by authorities. The Pickens County Sheriff's Office stated that all individuals involved were identified and cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
Subsequently, an arrest was made in connection with the fatal shooting. Cordarrell Tashawn Gray, 31, was taken into custody and charged with voluntary manslaughter and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
