In the early morning hours of October 29, 2022, the life of 30-year-old Devonte Devario Byrd was tragically cut short. Responding to a call about a shooting, law enforcement and emergency services arrived at an apartment complex on the 200 block of Old Mill Road in Mauldin, South Carolina. There, they discovered Mr. Byrd, a resident of Greenville, suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
