On a tragic day in Darlington, South Carolina, the life of 21-year-old Davion Jaheem Hough was cut short. On December 12, 2022, Hough, a Black male, was discovered fatally shot on Jamestown Avenue. The Darlington County Sheriff's Office, responding to reports of gunfire in the area, found him slumped over the steering wheel of his car. His death was officially ruled a homicide by the Darlington County Coroner.
Davion, known affectionately as 'Lul,' was born on June 19, 2001, in
Darlington County. He was a graduate of Darlington High School and had also attended Lincoln Tech of Tennessee. At the time of his passing, he was employed by the city of Hartsville. Remembered as a delightful and joyful young man, he found happiness in playing basketball and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Christian Assembly Church.
The investigation into Hough's death, led by the Darlington County Homicide Unit with assistance from the State Law Enforcement Division quickly resulted in an arrest. A 17-year-old juvenile was taken into custody and faced charges of murder, criminal conspiracy, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
