In the winter of 1950, Carl Mosser, a 33-year-old man, his wife Thelma, and their three young children left their home in Illinois for a trip to visit relatives in New Mexico. Their journey took an unimaginably tragic turn when they were abducted by a man named Billy Cook. Cook, a recently released convict from Joplin, Missouri, forced his way into the family's car and directed them on a terrifying, meandering drive that led back to his hometown.
