Sergeant George M. Williams, a 37-year-old officer with the Rolla Police Department in Missouri, tragically lost his life on May 21, 1977. The incident occurred when Sergeant Williams, who had just finished his shift but was still in uniform, noticed two suspicious men parking behind a business in downtown Rolla.
