David Joseph Inlow, a dedicated police officer from Kansas City, Missouri, tragically lost his life in the line of duty on May 25, 1980. Officer Inlow was patrolling his area in the early morning hours when he noticed suspicious activity at an all-night service station located at 3737 East 31st Street. Upon closer inspection, he realized that a robbery was in progress. As he attempted to intervene, he was confronted by the suspect, Dennis Keith Carter, and a fierce gun battle ensued.
