In the early morning hours of June 22, 2000, a quiet night in Huntsville, Missouri, was shattered by violence at the Randolph County Jail. Inside, 33-year-old male Jail Supervisor Leon Earl Egley was on duty, a four-year veteran of the Sheriff's Department. Alongside him was Deputy Jason Acton. The jail, a rural facility, had a night buzzer for after-hours visitors, a feature that would prove fatal on this particular night.
