Deputy Sheriff Jason Lee Acton, aged 36, tragically lost his life on June 22, 2000, during an attempted jailbreak at the Randolph County Jail in Huntsville, Missouri. At approximately 12:45 am, a man and a woman rang the night buzzer at the jail. Upon being let in, the suspects opened fire on Deputy Acton and Jail Supervisor Leon Egley, killing them both.
