On the morning of Friday, April 3, 2015, violence erupted in the North City neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, claiming the life of a young man. Deandre Hawkins, a 21-year-old male, was present in the 700 block of Walton Avenue when shots rang out shortly before 11:00 a.m. The disturbance drew the immediate attention of local law enforcement, prompting a swift response to the scene.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered Hawkins suffering from gunshot wounds to his buttock and
flanks. Emergency personnel worked quickly to transport him to a nearby hospital for urgent medical intervention. Despite the efforts of medical staff to save his life, Hawkins succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the medical facility.
