On November 17, 2015, authorities in Saint Louis, Missouri, were called to a residence in the 4400 block of Evans Avenue, located in the historic Ville neighborhood. Upon arrival, first responders discovered the body of 48-year-old Richard Hill inside the home. At the scene, there were no immediate signs of a violent struggle or obvious trauma that typically characterizes a homicide, leading police to initially suspect that the cause of death was a drug overdose.
