In the early morning hours of July 16, 2016, the life of 20-year-old Malik Barbour was tragically cut short in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Responding to reports of a shooting in the 1500 block of SE Long Place, police discovered Barbour on the sidewalk, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The events leading up to the fatal shooting began with a verbal confrontation at a house party.
