On a summer evening in St. Louis, Missouri, the life of 25-year-old Sigaria Shanklin was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire on Interstate 55. On August 12, 2016, Shanklin was driving her car with a male passenger and a toddler when another vehicle pulled alongside and opened fire. The barrage of bullets struck both Shanklin and her male passenger. In the chaotic moments that followed, her vehicle veered off the highway and crashed.
