In the early morning hours of August 21, 2016, the life of 37-year-old Francisco Mendez was tragically cut short in Kennett, Missouri. Responding to reports of gunfire on Miss Clara Drive around 1 a.m., Kennett Police Department officers arrived to find a large crowd surrounding Mendez, who was bleeding and unresponsive. Despite immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
