On July 28, 2019, 25-year-old Javon Drexel Jackson was fatally shot in Kennett, Missouri. The search for Andrea Laray Davis concluded in September 2020, when he was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service in Kansas City, Missouri. Authorities had tracked him to a residence in the 4400 block of North McCoy, where he surrendered without incident. Davis was subsequently charged by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with Jackson's death. Following his capture, he was held in the Jackson County Detention Center awaiting transfer back to Dunklin County to face the charges.
