A woman is killed by a large rock thrown from an overpass Marsa Gipson, aged 28, was tragically killed on August 27, 1991, in Putnam County, Indiana. She and a male companion were traveling westbound on Interstate 70 around 1:13 AM when they approached the Manhattan Road underpass. At that moment, two large rocks, each weighing over 15 pounds, were thrown from the overpass. One of these rocks crashed through the windshield of Marsa’s vehicle, killing her instantly as she was driving. Her companion, who survived, witnessed the horrific event.
