A young woman dies as a result of arson
On September 12, 1993, 27-year-old Sherri L. Pearson was found dead in her Kendallville, Indiana, home. The discovery was made after a fire had broken out in the residence located on South Garden Street. Investigators determined that the fire had been deliberately set, and Pearson's death was ruled a homicide. Despite initial confusion about the cause of the fire, which was first suspected to be an accident, further investigation revealed it to be arson.
