In the early morning hours of February 2, 2017, the quiet of Moberly, Missouri, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. When police responded to reports of a disturbance in the 1000 block of South Williams Street, they discovered 54-year-old Christopher Shawn James with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. James was rushed to Moberly Regional Medical Center, but he was pronounced dead. The Randolph County Coroner later confirmed his death was a homicide.
