In the early hours of March 11, 2017, a trip to a BP gas station on East 39th Street in Kansas City, Missouri, turned fatal for 31-year-old Dorron Blackmon. The male victim was shot and killed in what authorities described as an attempted robbery. Just two weeks before his 32nd birthday, Blackmon, a father and soon-to-be husband, was taken to a local hospital by private vehicle where he succumbed to his injuries.
