In the autumn of 2017, the life of Cournelyous Shay'von Stevenson, a 22-year-old Black or African American male, was tragically cut short in Charleston, Missouri. A former U.S. Army soldier who had been stationed at Fort Polk in Louisiana, Stevenson was discovered inside a wrecked vehicle on November 17th. Authorities responding to a report of gunshots in the area made the grim find. It was soon determined that Stevenson had been shot, and his death was investigated as a homicide.
