On February 10, 2018, the Barnhart, Missouri community was struck by tragedy when 11-year-old Sammy Schweitzer died in what authorities determined to be a murder-suicide. Sammy was found with a gunshot wound to the head, inflicted by his mother, 49-year-old Tara Kellerher, who then turned the gun on herself.
