On October 13, 2018, the body of 59-year-old Charles Hayes Jr., known affectionately to friends and family as 'Magilla,' was discovered in Columbia, Missouri. Officers from the Columbia Police Department responded to the scene on Rice Road, a location situated in the northern part of the city, after receiving reports regarding a deceased individual. Upon arrival, investigators secured the area and began the process of collecting evidence to piece together the events leading to his death.
