On the evening of May 13, 2019, a violent tragedy unfolded in the Penrose neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, claiming the life of 30-year-old Black male Brendan Lee Williams. It was a Monday night, shortly before 9:00 p.m., when gunfire erupted inside a residence located in the 4000 block of Shreve Avenue. Police officers rushed to the scene to find a chaotic and devastating aftermath within the home, where multiple individuals had been struck by bullets.
