In the spring of 2019, the life of a young, 22-year-old African American woman, Tia Buress, was tragically cut short in St. Louis, Missouri. On the evening of May 27th, Buress was found inside a white Chevrolet Impala near the Lumiere Place Casino, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving her family and friends to grapple with the sudden and violent loss.
