Mariah Franklin, a 16-year-old from Independence, Missouri, was tragically shot to death inside her home on June 23, 2021. The incident occurred in the afternoon when Mariah and her mother were preparing to go shopping for a new cell phone. Mariah went back into the house to get some extra money but never returned.
