On the morning of March 15, 2013, 67-year-old Thomas Tefft was fatally shot during a home invasion on the northwest side of Indianapolis. Tefft and his wife were enjoying their morning coffee when an intruder, wearing a ski mask, broke into their home. His wife managed to lock herself in a room and call 911, but she tragically heard gunshots that ended her husband’s life. The intruder stole the couple's 2009 black Hyundai Sonata before fleeing the scene.
