I can't stop thinking about how tense things in that neighborhood must have been leading up to the tragedy on Kroeger Avenue. Witnesses have said that the feud between Marketta and Sha’Miya had been escalating, which makes me wonder if there were any warning signs that could have prompted intervention. Were there any attempts to mediate beforehand, or was it all happening behind closed doors? It just seems like such a preventable loss. I feel for Marketta’s family, having to cope with such a shocking event. It’s a stark reminder of how important it is to address conflicts before they spiral out of control.
