I can’t help but think about the completed renovations Jerrica had just done on her home before her death. From what I read, she was so excited about making it a cozy and safe space for her and her child. It’s devastating to think that a place she invested so much love and effort into became the scene of such a tragedy. I can only imagine how shattered her friends and family must feel, knowing how happy she was about those changes. Maybe someone around the neighborhood might have noticed unusual activity or vehicles near her house around that time? Sending love and strength to her family, and hoping for justice soon.
I was recently reading about Jerrica Johnson’s case, and something that really stands out to me is the lack of updates after all these years. It’s so distressing to think about her young child growing up without their mom and her family still waiting for any kind of breakthrough. I know some cases just don’t get the leads they need right away, but ten years feels like such a long time to have no closure. The fact that this happened in her own home must make it even harder for her loved ones, knowing she should have been safe there. It's frustrating that in 2013 alone, there were so many similar stories in Indianapolis. If anyone happens to know something, even the smallest detail, maybe it’s time to speak up. Jerrica’s family deserves to know what happened and why.
