I can't get my mind off the incredible strength Peggy Gill's family must have shown throughout the years. Losing a loved one in such a horrific way is unimaginable, and yet they had to endure decades of uncertainty. It's deeply unsettling to think about how the "I-65 Killer" operated and continued his life while his victims’ families were left in the dark, seeking justice. The fact that technological advancements finally led to the identification of Harry Edward Greenwell is a testament to the dedication of those cold case investigators who never gave up on Peggy and Jeanne. There's a bittersweetness in the resolution—we have answers now, but it's tragic Peggy's family never got to see her killer brought to justice during his lifetime. I hope that wherever Peggy's loved ones are today, they find some semblance of peace knowing they never stopped fighting for her.

I've been following the case of Peggy Gill and it just leaves me with such a heavy heart. Peggy was just at work, doing her job at the Days Inn when this unspeakable tragedy happened. It's beyond unsettling to think how in the blink of an eye her life was taken so violently. Thinking about her family and friends who, for years, didn't have answers or justice in sight is so saddening. The fact that the same person also ended Jeanne Gilbert's life that night underlines how senselessly these murders were carried out. It's chilling to think the "I-65 Killer" was out there for so long, causing so much devastation. I find some solace in the advances in DNA technology that finally brought answers. It doesn't bring Peggy or Jeanne back, but it does ensure their stories aren't just swept away in the passage of time. Closure is bittersweet, but it’s something. I hope it brings at least a sliver of peace to the families, who must feel that loss every day. They deserved the truth, and I’m glad that despite how long it took, they finally got it.

It's hard to imagine the fear and helplessness that Peggy Gill must have felt that fateful night at the Days Inn. She was just doing her job, probably hoping for a quiet shift, and never made it home. What saddens me the most is how someone so young, with a full life ahead of her, could have it all taken away in such a senseless act of violence. The fact that her case, along with Jeanne M. Gilbert's, went unsolved for so long makes me think about the countless families out there still waiting for answers. I can't help but respect and appreciate the tireless efforts of investigators who never gave up on these cases. They fought against time to bring some measure of justice, even posthumously, to the victims and their families. The advancements in DNA technology not only helped solve Peggy's case but can hopefully be a beacon of hope for others. My heart goes out to all affected by these tragic events.
