Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about the community’s response to Jasper Valliant's murder recently, and I just wanted to share some thoughts. It’s really moving to see how tight-knit and supportive the residents of East Chicago and Hammond have been throughout this ordeal. In times of such immense loss, it’s often the collective strength of a community that helps those left behind navigate through their grief. It’s clear that Jasper was a beloved part of that community, and the way people have come together to honor his memory shows just how much he meant to so many. I’ve been trying to understand how crucial community support can be, not just for the family mourning his loss but also in aiding the search for justice. The fact that the case is still unsolved is incredibly frustrating, but maybe the ongoing support and communication in community meetings and vigils could encourage someone with information to step forward. It’s a long shot, but I truly believe that every small effort counts. Sending my thoughts and solidarity to Jasper’s loved ones. Hoping one day soon there'll be answers and some peace for them.
