I've been following the case of Brandon Jackson and although it's been some time since this tragedy happened, I can't stop thinking about the legal proceedings for those involved. It's reassuring to know that Tyrell Beavers was sentenced, but I'm curious about how the community feels about the justice delivered. How do people in Elkhart feel about the 14-year sentence for Shyla Southern, or the fact that Joemongee White is still out there? As an outsider, I can only imagine the ongoing anxiety and unrest knowing one of the accused is still at large. It's tough to come to terms with how such senseless violence has ripple effects that haunt friends, family, and the community long after the headlines fade. My heart goes out to those who knew and loved Brandon. Justice may have been served to some degree, but the loss is permanent for those who cared about him.
