I’ve been following the tragic case of Nefreteri Jones and the two others who lost their lives in the dreadful incident on West 20th Avenue. What keeps lingering in my mind is the sheer betrayal that these victims faced, especially from someone who was supposed to be a trusted partner. Reginald Carter’s previous violent behavior towards Yoasha makes me wonder if there were missed opportunities to intervene before things reached this horrible conclusion. Could earlier actions from family or community support systems have helped? It's a gut-wrenching reminder of how vital it is to recognize and act upon signs of domestic violence. My heart goes out to both families and the community struggling with this heartbreaking event. Let's continue raising awareness to prevent such tragedies from happening again.
