This case has always intrigued me, especially because of the time period and the circumstances surrounding Gil Leite's disappearance. One thing that stands out is the gap between when he was last seen and when he was reported missing. I know it's not uncommon, especially back then, for people to go a few days without checking in, but it makes you wonder if anything important might have happened during that time.
I've always been curious if anyone remembers seeing him after he left the bar that night. It's been such a long time, but maybe there's someone out there who has a hazy memory of that night. Maybe a late-night convenience store or diner employee might have seen him? It's those small details that could be the key to unraveling this puzzle. Anyone have thoughts on other avenues that might not have been fully explored?
Has anyone looked into what route Gil might have taken if he was heading back to Bloomfield from the bar that night? It’s 1968, so no GPS, and possibly limited traffic cams or surveillance. I wonder if he was familiar with some back roads or if his car was ever found. Also, were there any road construction or weather reports from that night that might offer some insights or clues? It seems odd to me that someone could just vanish without a trace on a seemingly mundane journey. It’d be interesting to see if anyone else went missing or reported anything strange in that area around the same time. Maybe there's a connection or simply a piece of the puzzle we’re missing. Thoughts?
